A Great Battle

A great war has commenced in our home.

It started innocently enough by Ken and I wanting to make our house safe for Angelina. I walked around the house putting outlet covers over all visible outlets. Ken worked on putting safety latches on the bathroom and kitchen cabinets. This is where the battles have begun. Now both being college graduates and educated people, you would think that we could live easily with child-safe cabinets, but this is certainly not the case. One of us will go to open a cabinet and will forget there is a lock on it, this is when the other one of us will hear the resistance of the door followed by a frustrated expletive.

Currently, the tally stands at:
Safety latches - 2,395
Adrian & Ken - 0

Oh, the cabinet wars. We have them in our house too. Just wait until Angelina comes home, it gets better. Somehow we have the hardest time opening them but Aaden has already broken 2 of them and he's only been home for a little over a month! ;)

Welcome, my dear parents-in-training to the preliminary obstacle course. This will be followed by crayons left in pockets and accidently washed and melted in the dryer (wonderful), the ever-pleasant legos left on the floor for your bare feet to find in the middle of the night or early morning and don't forget the sweet smell of playdough as it's ground into the carpet. (That is if she doesn't eat it first.) Oh yes, it's a wild ride, but so worth it...

If you haven't been treated to hearing Angelina's first REAL belly laugh, it will come. Treasure that laugh and remember it when you so want to just open a bottle. That memory can get you through the toughest physical or mental obstacle course she will undoubtedly throw at you over the years.
